Does it seem that Hemp soap is still a 'thing'? I'm gonna pause here, go to some handcrafted soap sellers and get a feel for what's selling...
Okay, so after skimming over a few sites, it seems trends in soap haven't really changed over the last few years. I see a 'spa like' trend with relaxing and uplifting scents. Soaps are named Zen and Calm. Most soapers are using essential oils as fragrance, which is nice, but there are so many wonderful safe fragrance oils out there that they could explore. You can only go so far with essential oils, and after the soap making process, there is no benefit (or very tiny benefit) other than scent, from the oil. For example, tea tree oil is touted as an astringent, or for acne, but the amount added to soap is so tiny, that basically you're getting the scent and maybe 1% (probably less) of the entire bar is the oil. So that is a gimmick. Because soap is only on the body for a short period of time.
